We develop solutions that help treat simple infections of the urinary tract
Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are a frequent phenomenon that mainly affects the female population; in fact, it is estimated that one in two women suffer from urinary tract infections at least once in their lifetime, with an annual incidence of 11% which increases with advancing age (1).
The pathogen that most often causes this type of infection is Escherichia coli, although, less frequently, other bacteria or fungi may be involved (1)
UTIs can also affect men, especially during invasive diagnostic investigations such as transrectal prostate biopsy.
